This is a site guide for Runescape Media. It is currently under development! Topics: A 'status' is a short message that tells everyone what you are doing. For example, you could have a status of 'Admin has just got 99 range!'. This message will appear on the site homepage, and will also appear in your friends activity feeds. You can change your status from your profile page, or the site homepage. Click 'profile' from the 'Community' part of the site, and scroll down:
Click on the box next to 'My Status' and type your message! Simple! Runescape Media allows you to add friends. You will then be able to do several things: - See all their site activities and status updates on your own activity feed. - Send them private messages One way to add a friend is to search for their RSM username on the site. When you are in the 'Community' section of the site, put your mouse over the 'friends' tab and click 'search'.
Now type in the RSM username of the person that you want to add as a friend, and click 'search'.You will then see a results screen as shown below. Next, click 'Add as friend'.
A popup will appear, allowing you to enter a personal message to the person you are adding. You may wish to include details of who you are, and why you have decided to add them:
Finally, click 'Add Friend' and your friend request will be sent. The person you added will then be able to accept or deny your friends request!
You may also add friends using any of the other 'Add as a friend' links around the site. For example, these are visable on profiles of people that are not your friends. The site guide is in progress and will be updated soon!
'Applications' are the features that you display on your profile such as 'My Videos', which display the videos you have added to the site, and a 'Wall' where people can leave quick messages for you. They are very simple to add and remove. To access and manage your applications, select 'My Applications' on the 'Community' part of the site:
The 'core applications' shown on this page are permanently shown on everyones profiles and cannot be changed. 'Your installed applications' are the optional applications that you have added yourself. Clicking the red 'x' next to an application will remove it from your profile. Click 'browse' on this page to see the applications that you have the option of adding. By clicking the green '+' button next to an application, the application will automatically appear in your profile! A group is a collection of RSM users that have a similar interest. Groups have their own 'wall' where users can post messages. The group creator can manage the group members. Groups can also be selected as 'private' when they are being created - this means that only group members can view the group. In a private group the group leader can either allow or deny people's applications to join the group. This makes it perfect for hosting a clan!
This guide is still being updated. The site has tons more features - so check them out for yourself!
